DAV College in Port Louis has a majority of its student population coming from deprived areas (régions défavorisé) – Tranquebar, Vallee Pitot, Ste Croix, Cité La cure, Cassis, Pailles, Roche Bois, etc. The various options offered to students at the DAV Colleges provide leverage for them to study subjects where they adapt more easily and are more likely to succeed.
Special classes coaching slow learners are regularly held at Pailles, Carreau Esnouf, Beau Vallon, Riviere des Gallets, Souillac, Le Morne, Bois des Amourettes, and other centres (all located in zones défavorisés).
Pre-vocational and vocational training (Actually run as extended programme)
Pre-vocational training at DAV Colleges, Port-Louis, Morc. St André & Rose Belle (Actually being run as extended classes). Learning centres for slow learners at Pte Lascar & Pailles, Youth Training Centres at Souillac and Belle Mare launched in 2020, other pre-vocational and vocational training centres in pipeline.
